"Lisette Model was really a miniature person, and I remember meeting her on the streets one day and when came to me that she used her small stature for aesthetic advantage, by shooting up - she had a Rolleiflex where she’d have to look down into the viewfinder which was perched by mid-body, so to speak, not up at the eyes - the result was many of her figures seemed to loom enormously and prodigiously on the horizon, above which there would loom these enormous skyscrapers. She made these figures incredibly monumental, impending, sinister sometimes, morbid, and unforgettable."

-Max Kozloff on Lisette Model, from his interview with Cheryl Dunn for Everybody Street
